GAP MILLS, WV --- Windell Wilkie Shull, Jr. age 57, of Gap Mills, WV, passed away Friday, August 21, 2015 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital, Roanoke, VA following injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born September 9, 1957 at Milton, WV, he was the son of Windell W. Shull, Sr. and stepmother, Linda of Milton, WV and the late Beatrice "Ann" Blankenship Shull. Mr. Shull served our country in the Special Forces U.S. Army 82nd Airborne and later was an iron worker in the D.C. area. Mr. Shull enjoyed various things such as the "old" country music. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially rabbit hunting, being around horses, and fishing with his grandson, Bryce, he also was a friend to everyone and tried to help anyone that needed help. Mr. Shull attended the Church of the Nazarene at Gap Mills, WV.
In addition to his Mother, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Ashley Sada Hardee and a granddaughter, Skyler Hardee. Surviving in addition to his Father and Stepmother are, his wife, Donna Hardee of Gap Mills; one son, Wilkie Shull III of Milton, WV; two daughters, Katie Crislip and husband Jesse of Gap Mills, WV and Nichole Hardee and fiancé Josh Steffey of Huntington, WV; four grandchildren, Bryce Dunbar, Cameron Crislip, Holden Crislip, and Kainon Crislip all of Gap Mills, WV; two brothers, Rex K. Shull and wife Sandy of Milton, WV and Mark Shull and wife Sheila of Georgia; one sister, Mary Nash and husband Brian of Moultrie, GA; Special uncle, Uncle Jennings of Milton, WV; Special friend, David Taylor of Cove Creek; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be held 3:30 p.m. Thursday, August 27, 2015 at the Groves Funeral Home Chapel in Union, WV with Rev. Paul Brown officiating. In keeping with Mr. Shull's wishes, following the services he will be cremated and a private burial will be held at a later date. Friends may call Thursday, August 27, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
