Obituary

UNION, WV --- William Elijah Epler, 97 of Union passed away on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at his home.
He was born at Parkersburg, West Virginia, April 15, 1920 a son of the late Elijah Daniel and Rebecca Cantwell Epler.
Mr. Epler begin his ministry in 1956 and retired from the Union Church of Christ in August 2017. Serving churches in West Virginia, Tennessee, Indiana, Ohio, California and New Jersey, a veteran of the US Army having served during World War II and was in the Battle of the Bulge, and served as Chaplin of the American Legion Post 100.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Goldie Juanita Rockhold Epler and his siblings, Raymond Epler, Helen Foley and Leo Epler.
He is survived by 1 daughter, Rosalie Eli of Pickaway; 4 sons, Paul Epler of Fulton, Miss., David Epler of Ionia, Mich., Bruce Epler of Union and Richard Epler of Louisville, Ohio; 15 grandchildren, several great and great great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 18, 2017 at the Groves Funeral Home Chapel in Union with Evangelist Paul Epler officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery at Union.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 – 6 pm. Friday, November 17, 2017.
