GAP MILLS, WV --- William Edgar Snow, age 86, of Gap Mills, WV, was unexpectedly called home by the Lord at his residence on Friday, July 26, 2021. Bill was born on April 5, 1935 in St. Albans, WV. He was the son of Edgar and Annabelle Snow. He attended Forrest Memorial Chapel Community Church at Gap Mills, where he enjoyed the opportunity to join in fellowship with his friends and fellow congregants. Bill served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and later enlisted in the U.S. Army. During his 24 years of service in the Army, he was a member of the Old Guard, served three tours of duty in Vietnam, and ended his career working at the Pentagon. He retired from the Army having achieved the rank of Command Sergeant Major, the highest rank an enlisted soldier can earn.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Ann Snow, and his daughter Cathy Snow Bledsoe. He is survived by his daughter, Jeane Ann Cagle; two brothers Mike Snow and wife Peggy, and Bob Snow and wife Janice. He is also survived by his two granddaughters, Brianne Davee and Abigail Cagle, as well as his great granddaughter, June Marie Davee (June Bug), all of whom he loved dearly.

He enjoyed visiting with neighbors and his friends at the Union Senior Center. There will be no services scheduled for Bill at this time. In keeping with his wishes, Bill will be cremated, and a memorial service will be held at a later date at Cunningham Memorial Park in St. Albans, WV. He will be laid to rest beside his beloved wife, Carolyn.
