UNION, WV --- William E. Pyne, age 89, passed away Sunday, November 11, 2018 at the CMC Memorial Hospital in Charleston, WV. Born February 19, 1929 at Union, WV he was the son of the late John E. and Lucille Ferguson Pyne. William or Bill known to many, was retired from the BF Goodrich Plant at Pickaway, WV. Bill served his Country honorably and was a WWII U.S. Navy Veteran. He was one of the founding members of the Union Community Vol. Fire Department. He was a big Dallas Cowboy fan and many Sunday afternoons were spent rooting for the Cowboy's and against his son's Pittsburgh Steelers. Bill also spent many nights at the old Legion Hall and later, the Union Fire Hall, calling numbers for Bingo. "Under the B, Lucky 13" was a phrase many people still remember today.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Patsy Pyne and a daughter, Lisa Pyne. Survivors include, one son, John Pyne of Union, WV; three grandchildren, Lissa Pyne, Maddy Pyne, and Jacob Pyne; and several nieces and nephews.
A small memorial service will be held May 25, 2019 on Pyne Mtn.
