GAP MILLS --- William Davis "Bill" Adkins, 92 of Gap Mills went to be with the Lord on June 27, 2015 at the Peyton Hospice House in Fairlea following a short illness. Born April 13, 1923 at Orchard, WV a Son of the late Wilbur and Clara Mae Wickline Adkins
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two sons, Chester and David Adkins and four brothers, Weldon, Russell, Herman and Harvey Adkins.
Mr. Adkins was a World War II veteran, a wonderful father, grandfather and great grandfather. He had a heart of gold and a smile for everyone.
He is survived his children; Bill Adkins of Rupert, Kathy McClung and husband, Roger of Logan, Marshall Adkins and wife, Linda of Rupert, LaDonna "Joyce" Adkins of Ronceverte, Alan Adkins and companion, Holly Ridgeway of Union; grandchildren, Cyndi Mellard and husband, Keith, Brittany Adekeye and husband, Kayode, Emily Simmons and husband, Timmy, Josh Adkins and companion Brandy Parsons, Christina Adkins, Sabrina Bryant and husband, Seth, Alan "Bud" Adkins II, David Adkins, Ashley Redifer and husband, Justin, Brent McClung, Jennifer Burns and husband, Justin, Brian Grey, Katelyn and Kayanna Grey; Great Grandchildren, Kingsley Adekeye, Carson Simmons, Addison, Kylie-Rae, Jayden and Ryker Bryant, Deven and Willow Burns; a brother, James Adkins and a sister-in-law, Helen Adkins.
Memorial services will be held 6:00 p.m. Thursday, July 2, 2015 at the Groves Funeral Home Chapel in Union, WV with Rev. Jimmy Rogers officiating. Friends may call Thursday, July 2, 2015 after 5:00 pm. until time of services. Following the services the family request that everyone meet for fellowship at the Union Senior Center.
