RONCEVERTE, WV --- Wilda Mae Mann of Ronceverte, WV, formerly of Greenville, WV, passed away Saturday, March 23, 2019 at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center in Ronceverte, WV. Born December 14, 1925 at Salt Sulphur Springs, WV, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Allie Mae Fisher Weikle. Wilda was a graduate of Union High school and she retired from the Monroe County Board of Education as a cook. She had 23 years of service at the Greenville School in Greenville WV. Throughout her cooking career, she enjoyed seeing that the students received a nice hot meal to see them through their day and she was honored to have gotten to work alongside her best friend, Lucille Mann. Wilda was well known for her delicious dinner rolls that she baked in the early morning hours while at the Greenville School. She also enjoyed working in her yard, garden, and her flower beds. Wilda was of the Methodist Faith.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Issac Whitten Mann; two sisters, (Infant) Mildred Alberta Wiekle and Edna Vivian Upton; and two brothers, Frank "Junior" Brown Weikle, Jr. and James Herbert Weikle. Survivors include one daughter, Margaret Mae Mann of Ronceverte, WV; one nephew, Frank Upton and wife Ruth of Burlington, WV; one niece, Darlene Upton of Summerville, South Carolina; one great-nephew, Greg Upton and wife Melanie and their two children, Dylan and Brandon of White Sulphur Springs, WV; one great-niece, Kara LeAnn Bray and husband Jeff, and their daughter, Kyla of Summerville, South Carolina.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2019 at the Greenville Methodist Church Cemetery with Pastor Gene Fullen officiating. Friends may call Friday, March 29, 2019 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Groves-Mann Funeral Home in Union, WV. The family requests memorial contributions be made in honor of Wilda to the Monroe County Animal League P.O. Box 343 Union, WV 24983 or to your local humane society.
