ALDERSON, WV --- Wanda Marie Brooks Bradley, age 81, of Alderson, WV, passed away Tuesday, June 30, 2020 at her residence following an extended illness. Born March 21, 1939 at Ft. Springs, WV, she was the daughter of the late Alex and Lillian Brooks. Wanda was a loving homemaker and she enjoyed her family dearly. She was a member of the Flat Mountain Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as the Church Clerk for several years, and also a member of the Women's Circle Group at the church. Wanda was a member of the Alderson Quilters and VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She was a familiar face to voters, as she was a dedicated poll worker every election year. She also enjoyed gardening and keeping beautiful flowers around the house for everyone to enjoy.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Cleveland Bradley; one son, Michael Bradley; two great-grandchildren; four sisters; and seven brothers. Survivors include two daughters, Linda Baker and husband Gary of Ft. Springs, WV and Mildred Bland of Alderson, WV; ten grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; special caregiver James Porterfield of Second Creek, WV; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Graveside services will be held 12:30 p.m. Friday, July 3, 2020 at the Mt. View Cemetery at Sweet Springs, WV with Pastor Jim Rogers officiating. The family will receive friends Friday, July 3, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Groves-Mann Funeral Home in Union, WV. Due to the recent COVID-19 Pandemic we are still recommending wearing facial masks and social distancing while attending the services. James, Robert, Alex, Aaron, Tim, Ryan, J.W., Tom, and David will serve as Pallbearers. James Porterfield Will serve as Honorary Pallbearer. The family suggests that memorial donations be made to Groves-Mann Funeral Home P.O. Box 212 Union, WV 24983 to help with cost of the services.
