BROOKSVILLE, FL --- Walter Jesse Davis, 88, passed away on October 13, 2020 in Brooksville, Florida. He was born on October 30, 1931 to Howard and Ella (Walsh) Davis in Galloway, New Jersey. Walter was a member of the VFW, DAV, American Legion, Hernando Computer Club, the Sears Retirement Club and the Hernando Genealogical Society. He was a combat medic in Vietnam and spent 20 years proudly serving our country in the U.S. Army. Genealogy was his passion, and he spent many years compiling the family history. Walter was predeceased by his parents, his loving wife of 56 years, Odessa Falls Davis, his son, Walter Jr. and siblings Richard, Helen, Charles, Florence, Isabella, Jennie, Howard, and Anna. He is survived by his daughter, Janet Davis, and his sister, Margaret Camacho, his grandchildren Brian Johnson, Paul Johnson and Stephen Johnson, his great-granddaughter, Lillian Johnson and loving family and friends. There will be a private viewing and burial in Fairview Cemetery in Keenan, WV for immediate family only. Walter was able to participate in an Honor Flight to the memorials in Washington, DC in 2019. It was a wonderful experience for him. Instead of flowers, the family requests donations to Honor Flight of West Central Florida or any reputable veteran organization.
