GAP MILLS, WV --- Violet Evilee Hoke Feury, 71 of Gap Mills, WV passed away on August 18, 2016 after a courageous battle with cancer. Violet was born May 5, 1945 in Hollywood, WV to Clay and Una Hoke.
Violet was preceded in death by her husband Myles Feury and brothers Billy Gene, and Emory Hoke.
Violet is survived by two sisters Martha Galford and husband James of Gap Mills, WV and Wanda Ferguson and husband Walter of Iron Gate, VA. Two brothers Lindsay Hoke and companion Margaret of Crows, VA, and Henry Hoke and wife Lena of White Sulphur Springs, WV. Sisters-in-law Patsy Cox, Helen Hoke, Nancy Hoke, and Margaret Feury as well as many neices, nephews, and special friends, Jeep and Mary.
Violet spent her working career as a supervisor at BF Goodrich where she made many lasting friendships. She and Myles owned and operated the Breezy Hill Farm from 1988-2014, and was their life long dream. Violet was a member of the Gap Mills Church of the Nazarene where she served many roles including Sunday School Secretary and board member.
Violet's greatest treasures in life were her "daughters", Tonia Fullen and husband Mike of Gap Mills, WV, and Tammy Vass and husband Bill of Union, WV. She was affectionatley known as "Granny" to her four grandchildren, Michael "Logan" and Ethan Clay Fullen, and Olivia Ann and Blake Andrew Vass. Violet was loved by her family and will greatly missed.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, August 21, 2016 at the Groves Funeral Home Chapel in Union, WV with Pastor Gene Fullen and William Beiler officiating. Burial will follow in Carmel Cemetery at Gap Mills, WV. Friends may call Sunday, August 21, 2016 from 1:00 p.m. until time of services at the funeral home.
