UNION, WV --- Veva Adelle Nichols Helms, 88, of Union, WV passed away Monday, August 14, 2017 at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center at Fairlea following a short illness.
She was born at Sinks Grove, WV, September 28, 1928 a daughter of the late Alexander Clifford and Alice Eades Nichols.
She was a homemaker and a member of the Crimson Springs Church at Zenith.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a son, Steven Helms; a grandson, Thomas Ketola; 2 brothers, A. C. Nichols, Jr. and Richard Nichols; 3 sisters, Lucille Craig, Pauline Wilkerson and Marge Skidmore.
Surviving are her husband of 64 years, Harry W. Helms of Union; a son Rick Helms and fiancé Kimberly of Bluefield, Va.; 3 daughters, Betty Ketola and husband, Jim of Crystal Falls, Mich., Debbie LaFuze and husband, Mike of Richmond, Ind. and Kathy Helms and special friend Billy Kirk of Union; daughter- in-law, Cathy Helms of Union; a granddaughter-in-law, Karen Ketola; a brother, Joe Nichols of Elkins; 4 half brothers, Johnny Nichols and wife, Linda of Salem, Va., Charles Nichols and wife, Nancy of Salem, Va., Larry Nichols and wife, Shirley of Alderson and Wayne Nichols of Redkey, Ind.; 3 grandchildren, Gregory Ketola and wife, Karlene, Eric LaFuze and wife, Amy, and Ronnie Helms; 5 great grandchildren, Emily, Brendan, Gwynn, Genna and Kelsey.
Funeral Services will be held 2 pm. Thursday, August 17, 2017 at the Crimson Springs Church at Zenith with the Pastor Jimmy Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in the Valley View Cemetery at Zenith (across from the church).
Friends may call at the Crimson Springs Church at Zenith from 12:30 pm until the time of the service on Thursday, August 17, 2017.
