ANSTED, WV --- Truman Dwayne Blankenship, age 51, of Ansted, WV, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at Appalachian Regional Hospital in Beckley, WV following an extended illness. Born December 13, 1967, he was the son of Floyd Blankenship of Greenville, WV and the late Mary Margaret Handy Blankenship. Truman graduated Union High School in 1986. He went on to work in the security and steel industries. He loved life and fought hard to keep it. He loved his family and friends, and was of the Christian Faith. In addition to his Father, he is survived by his loving husband, Burton "Clayton" Atkinson of Ansted, WV; one son, Shawn Dwayne Blankenship of Greenville, WV; one special nephew, they raised like a son, Jayson Settle of Ansted, WV; one brother, Bruce Blankenship of Lindside, WV; two step-sisters, Helina Bishop of Greenville and Charity Englehart of Rock Camp, WV; nephews, Brandon and Jason Blankenship; and several other nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 4, 2019 at the Groves-Mann Funeral Home Chapel in Union, WV with Rev. Cloyd Blankenship officiating. Friends may call Saturday, May 4, 2019 from 1:00 p.m. until time of services.
