GAP MILLS, WV --- Thomas G. "Tommy" Karnes, 66 of Gap Mills passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Raleigh General Hospital in Beckley, WV.
He was born at Ronceverte, West Virginia, December 31, 1950 a son of the late James Paul and Irene Noble Karnes.
Tommy devoted his entire life to be a full-time farmer and he was affiliated with the Presbyterian church.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Bill Lynch.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Clarkson Karnes of Gap Mills; a son, James Thomas Karnes and wife, Laurel of Gap Mills; a daughter, Andi Karnes McDaniel and husband, Jason of Gap Mills; 7 grandchildren, Sidney, Kendra, Andrew, Alex and Ava Karnes, Sophia and Thomas McDaniel; several special nieces and nephews also survive, along with special friends; Elmer and Katie Galford, Larry and Karen Layman, Mark Layman, Clay Lucas, Dennis and Cody Miller to name a few.
Memorial Services will be held 12:00 noon. Saturday, November 25, 2017 at the Groves Funeral Home Chapel in Union with Pastor Jimmy Rogers and Pastor Steve Accord officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5 – 8 pm Friday, November 24, 2017 at the funeral home.
