SINKS GROVE, WV – Thomas Paul Dempsey, age 67, passed away on Wednesday, May 21, 2025, at his home in Sinks Grove, WV. Born May 29, 1957, in Ashtabula, OH, he was the son of the late Andrew and Julia Dempsey. Thomas was a member of the Flat Mountain Church and worked 30+ years at the Weikle Brothers Sawmill.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, John Dempsey. Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Delores Dunbar Dempsey; three sons, Thomas of Mountain View, CA, and Shane and Daron, both of Sinks Grove, WV; two daughters, Susan and Amanda, both of Sinks Grove, WV; five grandchildren, Danielle, Elena, Carson, Carlee, and Levi; four sisters, Velma (Jimmy) Boggess of Williamsburg, WV, Jane Burdette of Lexington, NC, Sarah Dolan of Alderson, WV, and Roza (Ray) Martin of Alderson, WV; two brothers, Bill (Robin) Dempsey of Second Creek, WV, and Charles Dempsey of Alderson, WV; a very close niece, Terena Dempsey; and several other nieces, nephews, and extended family members.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, June 1, 2025, at the Groves-Mann Funeral Home in Union, WV, with Pastor Randy Burdette officiating. Burial will follow at Elizabeth's Chapel Cemetery in Organ Cave, WV. Yellis Smith III, Dale South, Joey Bennett, Jerry Baker, Carl Bowyer, and Mark Dunbar will serve as pallbearers.

Visitation will be held from 6:00PM until 8:00PM on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at the funeral home.
