WAYSIDE, WV – Tammy Lyn Fox, age 60, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at the Summers ARH Hospital in Hinton, WV. Born April 25, 1966, in Loudonville, OH, she was the daughter of Kay Marlene Schwartz Allen and the late James Homer Allen.
Tammy began working as a dispatcher for Monroe County 911 and retired as the Deputy Director of the 911 Center after 30 years of service. She loved life and lived to help others. Her selflessness was proved many times over, as she was always there to help her community and always put other’s needs before her own. With a smile that would light up a room, she truly made the world a better place.
Tammy loved going to church and attended the River of Life Church in Alderson. She carried her love for church with her throughout her life, finding grace in everything that she did. More than anything, Tammy loved her family, especially her grandbabies. Her presence and guidance will be sorely missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother, Lowell Eugene McDonald; grandparents, John and Hazel Schwartz and Ashby and Maude Allen; and her father-in-law, Ashby Fox Sr.
In addition to her mother, those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 40 years, Ashby Fox Jr.; two daughters, Ashley Boggs and husband Chad of Union, WV, and Vanessa Morgan and husband Caleb of Wayside, WV; two sons, Daniel and Hunter Fox, both of the home; seven grandchildren, Kaylee Ellis, Haley Morgan, Carly Boggs, Chance Boggs, Mason Morgan, Madison Morgan, and Walker Boggs; one sister, Linda McDonald and Sammy of Wayside, WV; special nephew, Travis Simcox; special longtime family friend, Sherry Craig and her children, Olivia and Luke; her beloved 911 family; and several special nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at the Groves-Mann Funeral Home in Union, WV, with Pastor Anthony Carter officiating. Burial will follow at the Wayside Methodist Church Cemetery in Wayside, WV.
Visitation will be held from 12:00PM until time of services on Sunday at the funeral home.
