ROCKY GAP, VA --- Stephen Malone Barton, 39 of Rocky Gap Va went to be with his Heavenly Father Wed Aug 15, 2018 at his residence surrounded by family after a long illness. Born February 8, 1979, Stephen was 1997 Graduate of Graham High School, a Veteran of the US Marine Corp. and Virginia State Trooper. Stephen was a member of the New Hope Tabernacle Church in Union, loving husband, father, son and brother!
He was preceded in death by his father, Hansel Vernon Barton of Honaker Va, paternal grandparents Sam and Martha Barton of Bee Va, Maternal grandparents, G.E Jr and Arlene Compton of Bluefield, Va. He is survived by his wife Michelle (Hunt) Barton, 5yr old daughter Isabella Marie Barton and 14yr old step son Hunter Rhae Moser all of Rocky Gap Va, His mother and Step Father Ernestine (Teena) Dalton and Larry K Dalton Sr of Bland Va, two brothers Vernon Scott Barton and wife Karen of Rural Retreat and Samuel Aaron Barton and wife Becky of Bland Va, and two step brothers Larry (Skip) Dalton Jr and Barry H Dalton both of North Tazewell. Very special Aunts and uncle, Ruth Rasnake of Salem and Glenn (Chuck) Barton and wife Evelyn Barton of Dublin. In-laws Phillip and Deneace Hunt of Peterstown, brother and sister n laws Phillip and Regina Hunt of Peterstown and Allen and Crystal Hunt of Lindside WV. Several Nieces and Nephews. Nicholas and Nathan Barton, Hunter and Logan Barton.Amber and Ashley Dalton, Megan Dalton, Brock, Logan and Ava Hunt, Zack Payne and Kassidy Hunt. And a very special friend who stood beside Steve and was always there to help Michael Shrader of Rocky Gap.
A celebration of Stephen's life will be held 1:00 p.m. Sunday August 19, 2018 at the Chuck Mathena Center in Princeton, WV. Burial will follow at the Barton Cemetery in Bee, VA. Following the funeral services those wishing to go to the gravesite, are asked to meet at the cemetery in Bee, VA by 4:00 p.m. Friends may call 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Saturday, August 18, 2018 at the New Hope Tabernacle Church in Union, WV.
