Mcclary Bell
July 20, 1920 – March 23, 2014
Stella Josephine McClary Bell, of Union, passed away on March 23, 2014. Born at Zenith on July 20, 1920, she was a daughter of the late Edgar N. and Lomia Neel McClary. She attended Union High School and later obtained her GED from that school at the tender age of 51; an accomplishment of which she was very proud.
In 1943, she married the love of her life, Everette French Bell, Jr. of Zenith. Their life together ceased on May 19, 1969 when French passed away do to heart failure. From this sacred union would come five children; Everette F. (Sonny) Bell wife Terri of Stafford, VA, William R. "Bill" Bell and wife Ilse of Roanoke, VA, the late Nancy L. "Bell" Dalton and husband Roger of Lexington, N.C., James David Bell and wife Jackie of Peterstown and Linda C. "Bell" Dolan. Stella would also be proud to be the step-mother to Barbara Jean "Bell" Moyer and the late Jo Ann "Bell" Thompson of Detroit, MI.
Stella was a home maker; she believed in the priceless value of a stay at home wife and mother. She was a giver and not a taker, always thinking of others and giving of herself to help those in need. She truly exemplified and loved her life as a devout Christian, truly giving it her best to be a faithful, trusting and obedient servant to Jesus Christ. Stella devoted her life to her Saviors, her husband and her children. She loved her children's spouses unconditionally. The love, care, protection, guidance, strength and direction she gave to her grandchildren and great grandchildren, will forever be remembered and cherished by all. The memories will be precious and marked in the hearts, minds, and souls of the family and friends of our mother Stella Bell forever.
Stella was a charter member of the Union Memorial Baptist Church in Union, and she received many blessings from the community, her friends, and neighbors and other churches in the Union area in her elderly years.
In addition to her parents, husband, daughter, and step-daughter preceding her in death are brothers; Nathan, Bill, Paul and Harold McClary, sister, Alma Hudkins, great grandson, Tyler Bell, other surviving family members are; 21 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, plus many nieces and nephews and well as great nieces and great nephews.
Pallbearers will be comprised of the Union Rescue Squad Honor Guard.
Funeral arrangements will be conducted by Groves Funeral Home in Union.
Viewing service will be Thursday, March 27 th from 6-8pm. Funeral services will be held at the Funeral Home on Friday, March, 28 th at 12:00 noon, with Reverend Jimmy Rogers, son David Bell and Dr. Rick Fogel. Burial will follow after the service at Carmel Cemetery in Gap Mills.Visits: 0
