UNION, WV --- Spurgeon "Neel" Parker, age 88, of Union, WV passed away Sunday, December 8, 2019 at his residence. Born February 10, 1931 at Red Sulphur, WV he was the son of the late Lacy and Lizzie Mann Parker. Neel was a retired Monroe County Schools Bus Operator. He was a hard worker, and he enjoyed being outdoors doing yard work and tending to his garden. Neel was of the Protestant Faith and was a member of the Bethel Church at Creamery, WV.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Hazel Mann, Jacqueline Mann, Ann Canterbury, and Marilyn Canterbury. Survivors include, his loving wife of 67 years, Margaret Chapman Parker of Union, WV; three daughters, Kathy Hintersteiner and husband Shawn of Caldwell, WV, Gail Weikle and husband Chuck of Union, WV, and Mable Cox and husband Daryl of Gap Mills, WV; six grandchildren, Jeremy Weikle and wife Jenny of Ronceverte, WV, Leann Weikle of Union, WV, Ben Weikle and wife Kerrie Ann of Smoot, WV, Lacey Wallace and husband Sam of Caldwell, WV, Dani Moore and husband Donnie of Fort Springs, WV, and Steven Weikle and wife Tanya of Greenville, WV; one step-grandson, Daniel Cox and wife Nicole of Pickaway, WV; thirteen great-grandchildren, Griffin Weikle, Brody Weikle, Cameron Weikle, Henry Weikle, Rylee Wilson, Cain Greer, Levi Weikle, Malachi Moore, Harper Moore, Cooper Cox, and Lydia Cox; special caregiver, Sandy Holcomb; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 12, 2019 at the Groves-Mann Funeral Home Chapel in Union, WV with Rev. Terry Utterback officiating. Burial will follow in Greenbrier Memorial Gardens, Lewisburg, WV. The Family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 11, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
