FAIRLEA, WV --- Shirley Marie Saunders, 78 of Fairlea, WV passed away Wednesday morning, September 20, 2017 at her home following a sudden illness.
She was born in Monroe County, WV, February 26, 1939 a daughter of the late William Herman and Irene Mottesheard King.
She was a homemaker and attended the Second Creek Pentecostal Holiness Church at Second Creek.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Forrest Saunders, Sr.; 4 children, Vicky Hurley, Raymond Saunders, Jr., Daniel Saunders and Joey Saunders; 3 brothers, Howard, Paul and Billy King; 3 sisters, Pauline Wilson, Ailene Holcomb and Effie Winebrimmer.
Surviving are 3 children, Brenda Wines and Timmy Saunders in Baltimore, Gary Saunders in Ok.; sister, Margaret Hoke of Connersville, Ind.; brothers, Minor King of Hollywood, Robert King of Ronceverte, Erik Leroy King of Alderson, Henry King and Stephen King of Boaz, Ala., Gene King in Indiana; 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
In keeping with her wishes she will be cremated, there will be no visitation and memorial services will be held at a later date.
