UNION, WV – Shirley Dunbar Franklin, age 88, passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at the Lindside Healthcare Center in Lindside, WV. Born January 23, 1937, in Sinks Grove, WV, she was the daughter of the late Buford and Ada Carter Dunbar. Shirley was a member of the New Lebanon ARP Church in Pickaway. She graduated with a business degree and worked as a clerk for the Franklin's Supermarket. She was a beloved mother, sister, and friend.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Ray Franklin; and siblings, Dorothy Hardy, Richard Dunbar, and Donald Dunbar.

Survivors include two sons, Rick Franklin and wife Angie of Pearisburg, VA, and John Franklin and wife Stacey of IA; and two brothers, Carl Dunbar and wife Phyllis, and George Dunbar and wife Jenny, all of Union, WV.

Graveside services will be held at 1:30PM on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at Grandview Memory Gardens in Bluefield, VA, with Pastor Ricky Green officiating.
