PICKAWAY, WV --- Sherry T. Burns, age 75, of Pickaway, WV, passed away Wednesday, November 16, 2022 at Cornerstone Hospital in Huntington, WV. Born September 17, 1947 in Ronceverte, WV, she was the daughter of the late Marion and Margaret Hayes Thomas. Sherry had worked at the B.F. Goodrich plant in Pickaway with over 22 years of service. She loved her family dearly and she also loved her two "girls" her dogs, Lizzie and Sheba. Sherry was a member of the Mt. Pleasant Community Church in Sinks Grove.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Tony Burns; infant brother, Stephen Thomas; sister-in-laws, Willie Ratliff, Lanelle Vandegrift, Barbara Weikle, and Betty Bradley. Survivors include her husband of 59 years, John W. Burns of Pickaway; one son, Tommy Burns and wife Helen of Pickaway; one daughter, Andi Hedrick and husband Justin of Frankford, WV; grandchildren, April, Angela, Amanda, Mandy, Eric, and Sawyer; brothers, Wayne Thomas of Norfolk, VA, Barry Thomas and wife Judy of Plain City, OH, Ben Thomas and wife Sharon of Plain City, OH, Dan Thomas and wife Dee of Greenville, OH, Timmy Thomas and Sherry of Malta, OH, and Billy Thomas and wife Marcia of Malta, OH; one sister, Theresa Gale of Plain City, OH; daughter-in-law, Donna Burns of Pickaway, WV; sister-in-laws, Sue Davis of Hollywood, WV, and Lenora Wilson of Pickaway, WV; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

A memorial service will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 19, 2022 at the Groves-Mann Funeral Home Chapel in Union, WV with Pastor James Hylton officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. In Lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Sherry's memory to the Mt.
