ALDERSON, WV --- Samuel Marion Kincaid, age 91, of Alderson, WV, went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, June 21, 2022 following a short illness. Born June 3, 1931 at Alderson, WV, he was the son of the late Samuel Walter Kincaid and Muriel B. Berkley Kincaid Jefferies. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter Ralph Kincaid and Richard Ray Kincaid; and a sister, Ella Margaret Grimmet; and several nephews and nieces, a  great-nephew, and several uncles, aunts, and cousins.

Sam was a Korean War Veteran and a Purple Heart recipient from combat. Sam was mostly self-employed with a small engine repair shop. He also had a degree in electronics. He used to write local historical stories for a local newspaper, and they were also published. He was considered a "Dear Abby" for his local history stories. He loved doing woodworking where he was extremely talented, and it showed in all of his work. Sam also built his own HAM radios, and everyone was impressed with his conversations with others in different countries. Sam was once a radio announcer with WRON in Fairlea, WV. He worked with Tom T. Hall. The two of them used to get together a lot and play music with their guitars and sing. He was a collector of many items and loved to learn the history of the items.
