UNION, WV --- Sammy Lee Dunbar, age 75, of Union passed away Friday morning, September 23, 2016 at his home.
He was born November 13, 1940 a son of the late Ira Anderson and Geraldine Caldwell Dunbar. Mr. Dunbar was a retired mechanic at Hercules and a member of the Oak Grove Baptist Church at Gates.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Dorothy J. Bennett and Opal Dunbar and 2 brothers, Guy Dunbar and Bobby G. Dunbar.
Surviving is his wife, Norma Jean Perry Dunbar of Union, a son, Edwin D. Dunbar and wife, Connie of Union, a daughter Candance Hawkins and husband, Rondal of Beckley and 6 granddaughters, Tashina, Megan, Ashley, Emily and Breanna Hawkins, and Amanda Dunbar.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Sunday, September 25, 2016 at the Groves Funeral Home Chapel in Union with Rev. Larry Dunbar officiating.
