LINDSIDE, WV --- Russell Ray Collins, age 92 of Lindside passed away Friday, December 11, 2015 at Springfield Center in Lindside, WV, following a long illness. Born April 12, 1923 at Greenville, WV he was a son of the late Charles William and Addie Taylor Collins. He was a disabled jeweler and watchmaker, a veteran of WW II having served with the US Marines, and he was affiliated with the Baptist Church.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter, Gail Blankenship; 3 brothers Alfred, Ralph and Wilbur Collins and a sister, Alma Ruth Garland.
He is survived his wife, Mary Jane Allen Collins of Lindside; 2 daughters, Vicki Dunbar and husband, Rick of Union and Carol Collins of Fairlea; 6 grandchildren, Josh Dunbar, Tina Crawford, Tony Collins, Jamie Collins, Molly Blankenship and Timmy Blankenship; 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive.
Graveside Rites will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 15, 2015 at the Green Hill Cemetery in Union with Pastor Paul Broyles officiating.
