Obituary

SINKS GROVE, WV – Roy Steven Dixon, age 71, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at the CAMC Greenbrier Valley Medical Center in Ronceverte, WV. Born September 9, 1954, in Sinks Grove, WV, he was the son of the late Roy Elsworth and Edith Mae Dunbar Dixon. Steve worked as a Foreman for the WV Department of Highways. He loved sports, especially New York Yankees Baseball. He could often be found watching westerns or ball games with his dogs, whom he loved dearly. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend who will be missed by all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by sisters, Elizabeth Honaker, Joyce Evans, and infant sister Faith; and brothers, Woodrow Lephew and Gene Lephew.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 44 years, Connie Jean Terry Dixon of Sinks Grove, WV; son, Steven Dixon and wife Desiree of Peterstown, WV; daughter, Rachel Dixon of Sinks Grove, WV; three grandchildren, Nathaniel Hughart, Delilah Hughart, and Aurora Dixon; sister-in-law, Donna Kirk of Union, WV; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00PM on Monday, May 18, 2026, at the Sinks Grove Baptist Church in Sinks Grove, WV, with Pastor Roger McDaniel officiating. Burial will follow at the Sinks Grove Baptist Church Cemetery with Jamie Cox, Jamie Crislip, David Evans, Darrell Glover, Dale South, and Mark Hoke serving as pallbearers.

A visitation will be held from 6:00PM until 8:00PM on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at the Groves-Mann Funeral Home in Union, WV.
