SINKS GROVE, WV – Rosa Lee Keeling, age 84, passed away on Wednesday, March 4, 2026, at her home in Sinks Grove, WV. Born February 5, 1942, in Sinks Grove, WV, she was the daughter of the late Virgil Paris and Blanche Evelyn Bostic Kidd.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Keeling. She was the last of her siblings and was preceded in death by her brother, John Kidd; sister, Rita Carol Wikel; daughter, Sarah Keeling Burgess and son-in-law, Victor Burgess; sons, Alan Keeling and Dannie Keeling.
Survivors include her children, David Boyce and wife Charlene, Christopher S. Boyce and wife Ann, Kendra Meadows and husband David, Renee Mengert and husband Kenny, Larry Keeling, Rodger Keeling, and Linda Keeling; eleven grandchildren, Benjamin Boyce (Ruth), Joshua Boyce, Isaac Boyce, Gary Bert, Jon Bradley, Alexa Preston (Lucas), Kristi O'Dell (Derrick), Heather Mengert, Robbie Mengert, Alicia Hershelman (Chris), Daniel Cox (Nicole); 27 great grandchildren, Nicholas, Cindy, Leon (expected in August 2026), Chloe, Silas, Hailey, Monroe, Tanner, Carly, Zayne, Baylee, Emma, Walynn, Presley, Harley, Riley, Legend, Sage, Destin, Trinity, Sarah, Abby, Christopher, Taylor, Cooper, Lydia, and Brady. She is also survived by one aunt, Poochie, many nieces and nephews and special family, Amber, Arlene, and Brittany.
Rosa Lee was a 1960 graduate of Union High School. She graduated with a B.S. from San Jose State in 1966 and completed her Master's Degree in Education in 1989. She was a retired teacher from Monroe County Schools. She loved teaching and continued to care deeply for the children she taught. Rosa Lee was well known for her faith. She dedicated her life to serving the Lord and sharing Jesus with anyone she met. She was a member of the Church of God in Union and Pickaway Methodist Church, where she also sang in the choir, served as a Lay Speaker, and was a part of several prayer groups and was known as "Prayer Warrior". She loved her friends and was very proud of her family. She always liked to tell others about how much of a blessing her very large family was to her. Her hobbies included singing, art, poetry, and storytelling, all while making her Rosie's Pies for the community. Additionally, she received her co-pilots license as a young adult and just recently finished writing a book about her life she hoped to have published one day. She loved roses and all things rosy. She enjoyed themed Christmases and a house full of her loved ones.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00PM on Monday, March 9, 2026, at the Union Church of God in Union, WV, with Pastor Mike Smith and Pastor Gene Fullen officiating. Burial will follow at the Beulah Land Cemetery on the family farm in Sinks Grove, WV. Visitation will be held from 11:00AM until time of services on Monday at the church.
