UNION,WV---Ronald Fred "Frog" Davis, age 70, passed away Saturday, April 11, 2015 at Peyton Hospice House Fairlea, WV following a short illness. Born July 8, 1944 he was the son of the late Fred and Evelyn Belcher Davis. Fred was a retired U.S. Marine Master Sergeant. He was a local Business Merchant and was a past co-owner of the Cash-Mart in Union. Fred was a member of the Crimson Springs Church at Zenith, WV and was a member of the Association of Fundamental Ministers and Churches. Fred loved spending time with his family and friends and also loved reading his Bible and going to Church.
Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years, Ella Sue Burns Davis of Union, WV; one son, Jeff Davis and wife Janena of Bridgeport, WV; two granddaughters, Hailie and Kendall Davis of Bridgeport, WV; one brother, Jim Davis and wife Pam of Sweet Springs, WV; two half-sisters, Norma Chandler of Birmingham, AL and Betty Jane Hines of Princeton, WV; three nieces, Terri Jessup of Mt. Airy, NC, Donna Jean and Mary Jane Chandler of Birmingham, AL; two nephews, Greg Hines of Princeton, WV and Richard Chandler of Birmingham, AL; and two great-nieces, Kaley and Karla Jessup of Mt. Airy, NC.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 15, 2015 at the Crimson Springs Church at Zenith, WV with Rev. Jim Rogers and Freddy Bostic officiating. Burial will follow in Valley View Cemetery, Zenith, WV (across from the Church) where the United States Marines will conduct Military Graveside Rites. Members of the Crimson Springs Church will serve as Pallbearers. Friends may call Tuesday, April 14, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Groves Funeral Home Chapel in Union, WV.
