He was born at Union, WV, May 1, 1946 a son of the late Basil L. and Velma Martin Weiss Wilson.

He was a retired employee of Virginia Power with 23 years' service and a member of the Union Memorial Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Lee Wilson.

Surviving are 2 sons, Scott Wilson and wife, Stephanie of Forest Hill, Bobby Wilson of Orange City, Fla.; 2 daughters, Shelby Wickline and her husband, Gerry of Sinks Grove and Melissa Burner of Mt. Jackson, Va.; a sister, Janice Carter and husband, Wayne of Union; 10 grandchildren, Trevor, Nathan, Brady and Ty Wilson, Eric and Shawn Wickline, Shannon Dunbar, Sarah Showalter, Ethan and Phillip Groves; 5 great grandchildren, Addyson and Braxton Dunbar, Briar and Sage Showalter and Lillian Groves.

Funeral Services will be held 2 pm. Saturday, August 19, 2017 at the Groves Funeral Home Chapel in Union with the Rev. Mark Shafer and Rev. Bob Ratliff officiating.  Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery at Union.
