GAP MILLS, WV --- Robert "Bob" Stanley Hiltner, III, age 73, of Gap Mills, WV, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2022 at Peyton Hospice House in Fairlea, WV. Born August 27, 1948 in Frederick, Maryland, he was the son of the late Robert Stanley Hiltner, Jr. and Catherine Smith. Bob served his Country in the U.S. Marine Corps. He had worked in the construction industry as a carpenter for several years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 11 in Thurmont, Maryland and a member of the Eagle Club 1136 in Brunswick, Maryland. He was an avid hunter and he also enjoyed riding his four-wheeler.

Survivors include his loving wife of 44 years, Cindy Hiltner; three sons, Robert Hiltner, IV, Donald Hiltner and wife Amy, and Shaun Hiltner; two brothers, Gary and John Hiltner; step-brother, Wayne Smith; six grandchildren, Ashlea, Kaitlin, Caleb, Georgia, Harper, and Willow; two great-grandchildren, Liam and Leo; and favorite nephew, Staff Sargent Jordan Hiltner of the USMC.

In keeping with Bob's wishes, he will be cremated and a memorial service along with military honors will be held on Sunday, July 10, 2022 at the Emmanuel Trinity Lutheran Church at 4004 Ballenger Creek Pike, Fredrick, Maryland 21703, with Pastor Terry and Pastor Marina officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. and the memorial service will begin at 3:00 p.m.
