ALDERSON, WV – Rita Darlene Zimmerman, age 60, passed away on Thursday, March 21, 2024, at the CAMC Greenbrier Valley Medical Center in Ronceverte, WV. Born August 13, 1963, in Greenbrier County, WV, she was the daughter of the late Roy Melvin and Bertie Elizabeth Frazier Brooks. Darlene was a homemaker who loved cooking and watching movies. She was a beloved mother, sister, aunt, and friend.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Robert Zimmerman III; and two brothers, Roy Melvin Brooks Jr. and Robert William Brooks. Survivors include her son, Marvin Robert Zimmerman IV of Cortland, NY; five brothers, Ralph Edward Brooks of Bluefield, WV, Rodney Glenn Brooks and wife Anna of Ronceverte, WV, Russell Wayne Brooks and wife Lisa of Lewisburg, WV, Richard Franklin Brooks of Fort Springs, WV, and Randall Dale Brooks and wife Karen of Peterstown, WV; four sisters, Eva Joyce Waid and husband Rusty of Alderson, WV, Ruth Anna Lephew of Sinks Grove, WV, Robin Elizabeth Swiger and husband John of Fort Springs, WV, and Rhonda Gail McFall and husband Lowell of Alderson, WV; and several nieces, nephews, other extended family members, and friends.
