GAP MILLS, WV --- Richard Douglas Vandegrift, age 55, of Gap Mills, WV passed away Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, Fairlea, WV. Born April 27, 1963 at Union, WV he was the son of James Richard and Ruby Lanelle Burns Vandergrift of Union, WV. Richard had a great love and passion for music. He was a member of the "Unruly Elders Band" and was the band's drummer.
In addition to his parents, he was survived by one son, Richard Douglas Vandegrift II; also surviving are several uncles, aunts, cousins, and his two little dogs, "Josie" and "Mia".
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, July 27, 2018 at the Groves-Mann Funeral Home Chapel in Union, WV. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Keenan, WV. Friends may call Thursday, July 26, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
