UNION, WV – Reddie Valentine Allen, "Granny", age 89, departed from this life to her eternal home on Saturday, November 8, 2025. Born February 14, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Everod and Rosa Dowdy. Reddie was very blessed with her family, friends, and church family. She enjoyed being with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Reddie was preceded in death by her husband, Tom Allen; daughter, Maxine Allen; granddaughter, Tracy Dunbar; and son-in-law, Gary Adams.

She is survived by daughters, Janie (Larry) Clarkson and Peggy Adams; son, Dale (Tammy) Allen; grandchildren, Bobby Dunbar (Amy), Gary Adams, April Cannaday (Tim), Ivan Allen (Alex), and Ben Allen; great grandchildren, Kayla Williams (Michael), Johnna Mohler (Ike), Madison and Megan Cannaday, Damien Adams, Cassidy Sites, Harper Allen, and Sophia Allen; great great grandchildren, Ike and Karston Williams and Lincoln Mohler. Reddie is also survived by her sister, Louise Spangler of Union and Betty Cochran of White Sulphur Springs, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00PM on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at the Union Memorial Baptist Church, with Pastor Mark Shafer officiating. Burial will follow at the Green Hill Cemetery in Union, WV. Visitation will be held from 11:00AM until time of services on Thursday at the church.

Bobby Ray Dunbar, Gary Jr., Ivan, and Ben Allen, Michael Williams, and Ike Mohler will serve as pallbearers.
