Obituary

GAP MILLS, WV --- Phyllis Jean Faudree, age 83, of Gap Mills, WV, passed away Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at the Greenbrier Health Care Center at Fairlea, WV. Born July 27, 1936 she was the daughter of the late Carl Lewis and Ellen Howard Davis. Phyllis was a caring homemaker, who loved her family dearly. She had previously worked as a secretary at Union High School and also as a nurse's assistant at the Sweet Springs Nursing Home. Phyllis had numerous hobbies and interests. She was an avid bird watcher and admirer of all wildlife. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening, and tending to her flowers. She also loved to bake fresh bread and make her delicious preserves and jellies. She was an avid puzzler, and she also enjoyed dancing in the exhibition square dances held at the Greenbrier Hotel. Phyllis was a member of the O.E.S. Union Chapter #122 and a member of the Cokebury United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Faudree; one brother, George Lewis; and one sister, Anna Klassen. Survivors include four daughters, Janet Boone of Ronceverte, WV, Pamela Davis and husband James of Sweet Springs, WV, Renee Eppling and husband Barry of Waiteville, WV, and Rhonda McClure of Sweet Springs, WV; one brother, Bobby Lewis of Florida; two sisters, Wanda Whitlock of Kent, OH, and Debbie Crislip and husband Oscar of Gap Mills, WV; six grandchildren, James Boone and wife Kara of Lewisburg, WV, Chris Boone and wife Misty of Ronceverte, WV, Rachel Eppling and fiancé David Lipes of Roanoke, VA, Allyson Eppling of White Sulphur Springs, WV, Sarah McClure and Grace McClure both of Sweet Springs, WV. nine great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her beloved granddogs, Lexi, Birdie, and her constant companion, Bella.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 12, 2020 at the Groves-Mann Funeral Home Chapel in Union, WV with Pastor Jim Rogers officiating. In keeping with Phyllis's wishes, cremation will follow the funeral service and her cremains will be placed in Carmel Cemetery at Gap Mills, WV at a later date. The Family will receive friends Sunday, January 12, 2020 from 12:00 Noon until service time at the funeral home. Memorial donations in honor of Phyllis's Memory can be made to the Crimson Springs Church at Zenith, WV.
