Union - Phyllis June Wallace Campbell, 89, of Union passed away Friday, June 3, 2016 at the Greenbrier Manor in Lewisburg.

She was born near Union, WV, October 11, 1926 a daughter of the late Irl Cooper and Fannie Echols Wallace

Mrs. Campbell was an active member of the Union United Methodist Church where she served as treasurer for many years and a member of the Monroe County Historical Society. She wrote histories of the Wallace Family and the Union United Methodist Church. June loved handicrafts, painting and collecting. She worked for the Rationing Board during World War II, Monroe Motor Sales for many years and retired from the Postal Service.

She was preceded in death by a her husband of fifty-eight years, William Haskell Campbell, 3 sisters, Elva Clemons, Janie Patton and Mildred McClung; 2 brothers, Irl Conley Wallace and Randall Wallace; a nephew, Tom Patton; and four brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law.

Surviving are 2 sisters, Barbara Wallace and Sue Via both of Union and by many nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM. Monday, June 6, 2016 at the Union United Methodist Church with the Rev. Charles Miller and Rev. Frank Naglic officiating.

Burial will follow at the Green Hill Cemetery in Union.

Friends may call at the Groves Funeral Home in Union from 5 – 7 PM. Sunday, June 5, 2016 and at the church 1 hour prior to the service.
