UNION, WV --- Paul Daniel Wright, age 57, of Union, WV, passed away Monday, July 29, 2019 at Raleigh General Hospital at Beckley, WV following a sudden illness. Born May 10, 1962 in McDowell County, WV, he was the son of the late Walter Marvin and Ruby Irene Slusher Wright. Paul had worked as a heavy equipment operator for George Hall. He was a master joke teller, and always enjoyed making people laugh. He was an avid hunter and loved the outdoors. He loved life and having a good time. He loved to dance and was known to cut a rug and clear the dance floor. Paul inspired and taught many people, and he often helped others with their personal struggles. He always rooted for the underdog and defended the weaker person. Paul was of the Christian Faith and he will be truly missed by his family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Michael Slusher and Peter Able. Survivors include, one son, Daniel Wright of Union, WV; one brother, Marvin Wright; two sisters, Virginia "Rinky" Franklin and Sandie Walker; sister-in-law, Ruth Able; two nephews, Josh and Matthew Able; special cousin, Frank Wright; and a special best friend, Dreama Woodzell "Mouse" of Union, WV.

Graveside services will be held 2:30 p.m. Thursday, August 1, 2019 at the Wright family farm at 3025 Knobs Road Union, WV, with Pastor Allen Hilton officiating.
