SINKS GROVE, WV --- Paul Douglas Longanacre, age 76, of Sinks Grove, WV, passed away Monday, May 6, 2019 from injuries sustained in an auto accident. Born March 1, 1943, he was the son of the late Delmar Perry and Kate Blake Longanacre. Paul was a graduate of Ronceverte High School in Ronceverte, WV. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army. Paul had retired from the Verizon Phone Company and was currently working for Mountain Limited Phone Company as a sub-contracting engineer. He loved his family dearly. He loved his farm, and he had a great passion for "Oliver" Tractors and collecting belt buckles as well.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by one son, Paul Douglas "Doug" Longanacre, II; three brothers, Louis, Jim, and John Longanacre; and two sisters, Norma Jean Wolford and Joyce Stokes. Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Linda Boone Longanacre of Sinks Grove, WV; one daughter, Cindy Bryant and husband David of Covington, VA; two granddaughters, Hope Longanacre of Sinks Grove, WV and Libby Longanacre of Princeton, WV; one grandson, Perry Longanacre of Princeton, WV; two step-grandchildren, Davey Bryant of Covington, VA, and Courtney Roberts and husband Ralph of Bluefield, VA, and their children, Olivia, Shayleigh, and Mason; one brother, Sam Longanacre and wife Becky of Glade Springs, WV; two sisters, Eloise Vass and husband Larry of Smith Mountain Lake, VA, and Ruth Ann Assaid and husband Don of The Villages, Florida; two sister-in-laws, Becky and Vivian Longanacre both of Lewisburg, WV; one brother-in-law, Pat Stokes of Destin, FL; two brother-in-laws, Mike Boone of Earlhaurst, VA and Stanley Boone of Neola, WV; daughter-in-law, Barbara Longanacre of Princeton, WV; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and their children, and many special friends of the community also survive.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 10, 2019 at the Union Memorial Baptist Church in Union, WV with Pastor Mark Shafer officiating. Burial will follow in Longanacre Cemetery at Sinks Grove, WV. Friends may call Thursday, May 9, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Groves-Mann Funeral Home in Union, WV.
