GAP MILLS, WV --- Paul Marshall Hardee, 86, of Gap Mills, WV passed away Friday, March 24, 2017 at Peyton Hospice House in Fairlea with his family by his side after a long illness.
He was born at Romney, West Virginia, February 19, 1931 a son of the late Marshall and Sada McKee Hardee.
Paul loved to hunt, play golf and bowling. He was an avid reader and enjoyed fast cars. He was a Navy veteran who served his time in Philadelphia and learned all about data processing, which was his lifetime profession. He retired from Association of American Railroads and he moved back to West Virginia and settled in Gap Mills.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 2 sisters, Lucille Timbrook and Genieve Shingleton; 2 sons, Randy and Stephen Hardee; a granddaughter, Ashley Hardee; a great granddaughter, Skylar Hardee and a son-in-law, Windell Shull.
Surviving is his wife of 60 years, Exa "George" Kellison Hardee of Gap Mills; 3 children, Barry Lee Hardee of Gap Mills, Donna Lynn Hardee of Sweet Springs, Brenda Gose and her husband, Marvin of Fredericksburg, VA.; grandchildren, Christopher and Sean Gose, Katelyn Crislip and husband, Jesse, Robert Hardee, Nichole Hardee and fiancé, Josh Steffey; great grandchildren, Bryce (Hardee) Dunbar, Cameron, Holden and Kainon Crislip and Alayna Gose.
Funeral Services will be held 7 pm., Monday, March 27, 2017 at the Groves Funeral Home Chapel in Union with the Rev. Joe Hendricks officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home from 5:30 pm until service time. Following the funeral services, he will be cremated and graveside services will be held at a later date.
