SINKS GROVE, WV --- Opal Nadine Chew Scott, age 97 of Sinks Grove, WV went home to be with the Lord on Monday, October 9, 2023 at Carillion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, VA. Born January 26, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Emory and Bertha Bennett Chew. Opal was a loving wife and mother. She was a caring homemaker and tended to the farm as well. She had also worked as a switchboard operator for the Greenbrier Hotel in White Sulphur Springs, WV. Opal loved the Lord and her church family dearly.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert "Bob" Scott, and an infant daughter, Roberta Jean Scott. Survivors include one daughter, Karen Scott of Sinks Grove, WV; and she is survived by many cousins and dear friends.

Graveside services will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday, October 12, 2023 at the Sinks Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Sinks Grove, WV with Pastor Vince Deeds officiating. Those planning on attending the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery by 1:00 p.m. There will also be a celebration of life service at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 28, 2023 at the Sinks Grove Baptist Church in Sinks Grove, WV with Pastor David Deskins officiating, with a luncheon to follow.
