ROANOKE, VA ---Norma Jean Trout Ambler McFarland, 84 of Roanoke Va. died at home surrounded by loved ones Wednesday, October 10, 2018. She was born in Alderson WV on March 14, 1934. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pete & Virgie Trout, brother, Miles Trout, sisters Gladys Smith and Judy Utterback, grandson Josh Serreno. She is survived by her brother, Donald L. Trout, and her children, George Ambler, Jr. (Vicky), Jean Brooks (Archie), Jeff Ambler (Teresa), Mike Ambler, Tim Ambler (Marilyn), grandchildren, Cindy Morgan, Chad Ambler, Nathan Serreno, Justin Ambler, Megan Meadows, John Allen Ambler, Michael Ambler, Chris Ambler, Phylicia Ambler, several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was a lifelong residence of Alderson WV until 2017 when she moved to Roanoke VA to live with her daughter. For many years she worked as a waitress, then became a restaurant/bar owner, but she was most happy when dealing with her junk during her never ending yard sales. She was a good friend to many and helped anyone in anyway that she could. First and foremost, the strong love she had for her family was the most important thing in her life.
