Nila Marceline White, age 81, of Lewisburg, WV, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 8, 2025.

Nila was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend whose warmth and kindness touched everyone who knew her. She spent more than 35 years working as a cook at Greenbrier Valley Hospital, where her dedication and steady presence made her a cherished part of the community. At home, Nila loved to cook, crochet, and work puzzles—simple joys that reflected her patience, creativity, and generous spirit.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hobart and Pansy Canterbury; her son, Rick Farley; and her brother, Kenneth Harlen Canterbury.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Vernon White; her daughter-in-law, Deloris Farley; stepsons, Steve White (Sandy), and Rodney White (Becky); her grandchildren Laurel Morgan (Corey), Kellen Brooks (Matt); and her great-granddaughter Amelia Morgan. She is also survived by her dear friends Debbie Diem, Patricia Humphreys, and Richard and Lois Holiday. She will be remembered with love by many extended family members and friends.

A graveside memorial service will be announced at a later date.

Nila's gentle heart, unwavering strength, and the love she shared will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at the Lewisburg Healthcare Center and Woodlands Health and Rehab Center for their care and compassion.
