Obituary

SECOND CREEK, WV --- Nellie Jane Boggs, age 97, of Eads Mountain, Second Creek, WV, passed away Wednesday, January 1, 2020 at the Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, Fairlea, WV. Born October 29, 1922 at Glace, WV she was the daughter of the late Jessie James and Frances Neva Spence Hoke. Nellie was a loving and caring homemaker, who loved her family dearly. She was known for her quilts and needle point. She made quilts for many people. Often, she would donate her quilts to be auctioned off for various fund raisers to help raise money for events and people in need. She was always ready to help out in any way she could. She also enjoyed tending to her garden and being outside. Nellie loved her Church Family as well and was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church at Caldwell.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Bruce Boggs; one son Robert Hubert Boggs; one daughter Frances Louise Wykle; three grandsons, Aaron Scott Boggs, Infant, Christopher Leon Elmore, and Lewis Maynard Elmore; two great-grandchildren, Grayson Butcher and infant, McKenna Wykle; three brothers, Leo, Kenny, and James Hoke; three sisters, Helen May Morgan, Betty Hubbard, and Julie Foley.

Survivors include, four sons, James Boggs of Lindside, WV, David Boggs and wife Carolyn of Gap Mills, WV, Arnold Boggs of Second Creek, WV, and Jeff Boggs of Second Creek; five daughters, Sarah Boggs of Second Creek, WV, Darlene Boggs Woodward of Second Creek, WV, Sylvia Keen and husband Marvin of Second Creek, WV, Rose Boggs and significant other, Mike Thomas of Second Creek, WV, and Janet Frazier and husband Michael of Second Creek, WV; two brothers, Roscoe Hoke of Glace, WV, and Arnold Hoke and wife Carol of White Sulphur Springs, WV; one sister, Sadie Feury and husband Golden of White Sulphur Springs, WV; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

In honoring Nellie's wishes, she will be cremated, and a memorial service will be held by her family at a later date. Her cremains will be spread upon her "beloved mountain", Eads, Mountain.
