ROANOKE, VA --- Mildred Wiley Hines, age 94, of Roanoke, VA formerly of Union, WV, passed away Thursday, January 17, 2019 at the Friendship Assisted Living at Roanoke, VA. Born November 20, 1924 at Union, WV, she was the daughter of the late Walter Reid and Juanita Shanklin Wiley. Mildred loved her family and her church family. She was a member of the West End Presbyterian Church at Roanoke, VA for 64 years.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband James Edwin Hines; daughter, Lorrie Hines; brother, William Wiley; and two sisters, Dorothy Wiley Scott and Ruth Wiley Clifford. Survivors include, three sons, James Edwin Hines, Jr. of Roanoke, VA, Roger W. Hines of Roanoke, VA, and Colin F. Hines of Plant City, FL; one sister, Margaret Wiley Gallagher of Morgantown, WV; nine grandchildren and seventeen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 25, 2019 at the Groves-Mann Funeral Home Chapel in Union, WV with Pastor Tony Ward officiating. Private burial will be held in Green Hill Cemetery, Union, WV. Friends may call Friday, January 25, 2019 from 12:00 Noon until time of service at the funeral home.
