UNION, WV --- On the evening of September 25, 2015 Michelle Faye Dowdy Zierer, age 44, of Union, WV received a call that she could not refuse. An appointment that she will not be returning from, it will be a reunion with family and friends she has not seen for awhile. Her new mission will take her to a wonderful place where she is free to socialize, dance, and sing to her heart's desire. This place promises to have no pain, sorrow, or sickness and will be filled with love, life, and laughter. Michelle was born November 14, 1970 at Covington, VA and was the daughter of Lewis and Dorothy Boggs Dowdy of Glace, WV. She had worked for the U.S. Government with Automated Health Services. She was a loving and caring wife and mother. She also was a loving foster parent and helped raise several foster children throughout the years. Michelle was a member of the Pentecostal Holiness Church at Glace, WV as well.
Michelle was preceded in death by one brother, Michael Dale Dowdy; paternal grandparents, Melvin and Faye Dowdy; and maternal grandparents, Dwight and Rama Boggs. In addition to her Parents she was survived by, her loving husband, Joseph John Zierer of Union, WV; five children, Brent Lee Andrew May, Skylar Jadin Zierer, Katelyn Grace Zierer, Zoey Brianna Zierer, and Joseph Josian Zierer all of Union, WV; one grandchild, Aleeada May of Union, WV; one sister, DeAnna Osborne and husband Doug of Union, WV; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 29, 2015 at the Glace Hylton Church at Glace, WV with Rev. Roger Boggs officiating. Burial will follow in Dowdy Cemetery at Glace, WV. Friends may call Monday, September 28, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Groves Funeral Home in Union, WV. Dwayne Clark, C.J. Cole, Roger Boggs, B.J. Dressler, David Bostic, and Dakota Osborne will serve as Pallbearers. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Zierer Family in c/o Groves Funeral Home P.O.
