ALTA, WV --- Michael Allen Nelson, age 51, of Alta, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 28, 2020 at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, Fairlea, WV. Born November 8, 1968 at Culpeper, VA, he was the son of Billy Ray Nelson of Alta, WV and Margaret Ottey Lancaster and her husband James of Mechanicsburg, VA. Michael served his Country in the U.S. Army and was currently a forklift operator for Lowes in Lewisburg, WV. Michael also had a love for all animals. Big or small, he had a passion for each one of them.

In addition to his parents he is survived by one daughter, Jamie Michelle Thompson and husband James of Roanoke, VA; two brothers, Mark Nelson and wife Susan of Princeton, WV, and Nolan Ray Nelson of Gap Mills, WV; one sister, Marsha Elaine Brown and husband Tim of Wilmington, NC.
