UNION, WV – Marshall Jay Miller, age 75, of Union, WV passed away Friday, December 14, 2018 at Greenbrier Valley Medical Center at Ronceverte, WV. Born March 5, 1943 at Zenith, WV he was the son of the late Woodrow and Evelyn Shires Miller. Marshall loved spending time with his family. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and just being in the outdoors. He was a retired Nursing Assistant and EMT. He had worked at several locations and positions throughout his career. Those include the Andrew S. Rowen Nursing Home at Sweet Springs, WV, Home Healthcare Plus, the Anthony Correction Center in Greenbrier County, and Moncove Lake State Park at Gap Mills, WV. Marshall was the first EMT in Monroe County and he also help start the Sweet Springs Rescue Squad at Sweet Springs, WV. He was a 4-H Camp Counselor for 30 plus years and was a member of the Valley Baptist Church at Zenith, WV.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years, Neica Neel Miller of Union, WV; one son, Randall Neel and wife Donna of Peterstown, WV; one daughter, Ella Mastalski and husband Chris of Mt. Pleasant, NC; one sister, Donnie Marth of Derwood, MD; four grandchildren, Haley, Justin, Jessica, and Zachary; and two great-nieces, Haley and Riley.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at the Groves-Mann Funeral Home Chapel at Union, WV with Pastor Jim Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in Crosier Cemetery at Zenith, WV. Friends may call Tuesday, December 18, 2018 from 1:00 p.m. until time of services.
