UNION, WV --- Marlene Mills Weikle, age 63, of Union, WV, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 1, 2022. Born June 15, 1959 at Barkers Ridge, WV, she was the daughter of the late Burl and Rosie Smith Mills. Marlene was a 1977 graduate of Peterstown High School. She went on to further her education at Bluefield State College and the Greenbrier School of Nursing where she earned her LPN degree in nursing. She had worked previously at the Robert C. Byrd Clinic in Lewisburg and at the Greenbrier Valley Medical Center in Fairlea. She enjoyed every moment of life God gave her. She loved being outside working with her beautiful flowers. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed visits from her grandkids. She also loved her church family and her Lord and Savior with all of her heart. Marlene was a member of the Mt. Hermon Baptist Church at Sarton, WV where she was the music coordinator and taught Sunday School as well.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Deresa Charlene Bowers; father-in-law, Mayo Weikle; and brother-in-law, Jimmy Canterbury. Survivors include her loving husband of 17 years, Bruce Weikle of Union, WV; two sons, Deric Bowers and wife Tisha of Greenville, WV, and Josh Weikle and wife Nikki of Union, WV; two daughters, Theresa Clemons of Princeton, and Jennifer Bowers-Williams and husband Matt of Lindside, WV; eight siblings, Butch Mills and wife Lisa of Peterstown, WV, Cecil Mills and wife Dejuana of Ballard, WV, Frank Mills and wife Kim of Bozoo, WV, Marva Boggess and wife Tommy of Richcreek, VA, Martha Canterbury of Peterstown, WV, Marsha Farley and husband Gary of Bozoo, Mary Frazier and husband Dana of Weikle, WV, and Margaret "Kathy" LoBello and husband Ed of Maryland. Grandchildren, Ethan Bowers, Eli Bowers, Jacob Clemons, Jaxson Weikle, Ella Bowers, and Kinley Weikle; mother-in-law, Ruth Weikle of Union, WV; special uncle and aunt, Billy and Susie; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 6, 2022 at the Groves-Mann Funeral Home Chapel in Union, WV, with Pastors Nathan Miller and Bob Ratliff officiating. Burial will follow in the Mills Family Cemetery in Peterstown, WV. Butch Mills, Cecil Mills, Frank Mills, Jon Blakeslee, Alan Ratliff, and Gary Thomas will serve as Pallbearers. Ethan Bowers, Eli Bowers, and Jaxson Weikle will serve as Honorary Pallbearers.
