SINKS GROVE, WV ---Marie Marceline Weikle Price, age 95, formerly of Sinks Grove, WV, passed away Sunday November 20, 2022 at Princeton Health Care Center in Princeton, WV following a long illness. Marie was born February 15, 1927 in Monroe County to the late Mabel Minnie Mottesheard Weikle and James Robert Weikle. Marie grew up on her family farm in Monroe County and was a 1945 graduate of Union High School in Union, WV. Marie was a homemaker and lived with her husband and daughters in Dunbar, WV before settling back in Monroe County in the 1960's.

Marie participated in many local community and church organizations throughout the years. She often helped with local election polls and taught quilting and basket making at the Union Senior Center. She was very creative and enjoyed painting, quilting, and making her beautiful handmade baskets which so many enjoyed. She had quite the green thumb and you could often find her tending to her lovely flower and vegetable gardens. She loved animals and nature, especially birds, and was well-versed in local flora and fauna. She also enjoyed traveling over the years.

In later life she enjoyed time with family and friends and was a recent resident at Princeton Health Care Center. The family would like to thank everyone there and the staff at Princeton Community Hospital for the excellent and compassionate care she received. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, several brothers and sisters, a daughter, Debbie McClung, and son-in-law, Lee McClung. She is survived by her daughter Marsha Cray and Companion Jim Canfield of Lewisburg, WV; grandson, Philip Cray and fiancé Susan Weinfurtner-Blair of Ashland KY; granddaughter, Jennifer Ridgeway and husband Anthony of Union, WV; great-grandson, Drew Ridgeway; grandson, Luke Canfield of Charleston, WV. sister Betty Pomphrey of Sinks Grove, WV; brothers, Donald Weikle of Canfield, OH, and Louie Weikle and wife Shirley of Princeton, WV; several nieces and nephews, and special nephew, David Anderson of Lexington, KY.

Marie was of the Christian Faith and will be cremated. Family will meet at a future date to carry out her final wishes.
