UNION, WV --- Margurite Fullen, age 92, of Union, WV passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2016 at her residence following a long illness. Born January 6, 1924 at Salt Sulphur Springs, WV she was the daughter of the late James W. and Mary Jane Wiekle Fisher. Mrs. Fullen was a 1942 graduate of Union High School. She worked for Celenese in Narrows, VA. Later she married John Thomas Roles Fullen on February 24, 1953, left her position at Celenese and became a farmer's wife. In 1962 she became the book keeper for John and Albert at Royster-Fullen Fertilizer in Union. She truly made the business because of her being a people person, never meeting a stranger; this made her an intrigue part of the business. She was a leader of the Methodist Youth Fellowship, Greenville Charge from 1972 to 1979. She often would gather up the youth throughout the community to take to services. She served on the Board of Directors of Community Action of South Eastern WV (C.A.S.E.) from 1998 to 2012. Mrs. Fullen also helped organize events at the Indian Creek Community Building where she helped to serve the Lion's Club and other organizations many dinners. She was a member of the Indian Creek Woman's Club where she served as secretary. She was also a member of the St. John United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John Thomas Fullen; infant daughter, Jackie Ellen Fullen; three sisters, Mildred Pence, Lucille Harvey, and Maxine Westnitzer; six brothers, Atlee, Harold, Stanley, Donald, Bobby, and Elwood Fisher. Survivors include, one son, Tim Fullen and wife Linnie of Union, WV; grandchildren, Hannah Fullen Roberts and husband Justin of Ballard, WV, John Dale "J.D." Fullen and wife Sonya of Union, WV, and Savannah Lynn Fullen of Union, WV; great-grandchildren, Jakob, Katelin, Emily, and John Lucas "Luke"; one brother, Roger Fisher and wife Lona of Troutville, VA.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 28, 2016 at the St. John's United Methodist Church, Union, WV with Assistant Pastor Anita Tracy and Pastor Gene Fullen officiating. Burial will follow in St. John's United Methodist Church Cemetery. Friends may call Friday, May 27, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Groves Funeral Home in Union, WV.
