Obituary

Margaret Juanita Cox, 78, of Rich Creek, VA, passed away Friday, May 24, 2024, at Carilion Giles Community Hospital. She was born on September 4, 1945, in Big Ridge, VA.

Margaret was a seamstress for 20 years and a grave digger for 15 years. She enjoyed a good cup of coffee at all times, loved flowers and gardening, but most of all loved being a grandmother and great-grandmother.

She was preceded in death by her brothers, Jobe, Wallace, Richard, and Daniel (Patsy), as well as her sisters, Ellen, Lillian, and Sue; and her daughter Laura (Eugene).

She is survived by brothers, Robert Cox of White Sulphur Springs, WV, and Roy Cox (Wanda) of Gap Mills, WV; her son, David Cox (Tasha) of Narrows, VA. Five grandchildren, Josh Holdren(Mary), Jennifer Cox, Maggie Miller (Lee), Hayleigh Cox, and Hunter Cox; eight great grandchildren, Conley, Jaxon, Colten, Waylon, Lucas, Isabella, Carson, and Logan; special friend, Carol Cox; and step grandchildren, Hailey and James Johnston.

A short gathering will be held from 10:00AM to 11:00AM on Wednesday, May 29, 2024, at Groves-Mann Funeral Home in Union, WV. Burial will follow at the Jones Cemetery in Big Ridge, VA.

The family asks if anyone would like to make donations to make them to the funeral home toward the funeral costs of her daughter, Laura.
