SINKS GROVE, WV --- Malcolm T. Lively, 83, of Sinks Grove, WV passed away Thursday, April 13, 2017 at his home following a short illness.
He was born at Wayside, WV July 27, 1933 a son of the late Glenn Fletcher and Pauline Amanda Greene Lively.
He was a retired Columbia Gas employee having retired with 34 years' service, a member of the Mt. Pleasant Community Church at Sinks Grove, a lay speaker, a member of the God's Squad, a Veteran of U. S. Army, and an avid hunter and gunsmith.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Carl Jesse Lively and Harold Glen Lively; son-in-law, Christopher L. "Jake" Davis.
Surviving is his wife of 56 years, Betty Jean Sims Lively of Sinks Grove; a son, Daniel Malcolm Lively and companion, Maria of Ronceverte; 3 daughters, Paula Jean Walters and husband, Joey of Gap Mills, Sharon Rae Lively of Sinks Grove and Melanie Susanah Austin and husband, Darryl of Organ Cave; 7 grandchildren, Rachel Amanda Lively, Elias Malcolm Lively, Daisy Ann Lively, Tillie Joy Lively, Jessica Lea Wynes and husband, Devin, Katelynn Leeann Davis and Dayton Wayne Austin; 4 great grandchildren, Malik Allen, Joslynn Thompson, Jesse James "J. J." Thompson and Jarod Lindsey; a brother, Paul E. Lively and wife, Kathleen of Oak Hill and a sister-in-law, Madeline Ballard and her husband, John of Greenville. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral Services will be held 1 pm. Tuesday, April 18, 2017 at the Crimson Springs Church at Zenith with the Revs. Jimmy Rogers and Fred Bostic officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery at Ballangee.
Friends may call at the Groves Funeral Home in Union from 6 – 8 pm. Monday, April 17, 2017.
The West Virginia Honor Guard will conduct Military Graveside rites.
Pallbearers will be Glen and Wade Lively, Scott Porterfield, Eugene and Preston Sims and Larry Griffith.
