Lloyd Perkins, age 81, of Union went to be with the Lord on June 29, 2026. He was born in Sarton on December 5, 1944, to Frank and Hazel Perkins. In 1964 he married the love of his life Joan Wilson. Lloyd was kind, generous, and always willing to help family and friends. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed gardening and working with his hands. He set up a produce stand where he offered fresh fruits and vegetables for neighbors. He enjoyed wildlife. At his home, he created two clover plots to encourage the deer to visit. He was not disappointed. He enjoyed sitting on the back porch drinking coffee, reading his Bible, and watching the deer. Most of all, Lloyd loved his savior and his family. His family reciprocated that love. He will be missed by all who knew him.
Lloyd was preceded in death by his loving wife Joan Wilson Perkins. Parents Frank and Hazel Perkins, mother and father-in-law Robert and Mary Wilson. Brothers-in-law Benny Wilson, and Major Michael J. Wall, and nephew Clark Perkins Jr.
He is survived by his daughter Dawn Bowler and husband John of Christiansburg, VA. His grandson Justin Bowler of Christiansburg, VA. His granddaughter Casey Eanes and husband Travis, and his great-granddaughter Harper of Dublin, VA.
His brother Clark Perkins and wife Linda of Hinton. His sister Paulette Wall of Greensboro, NC, and brother Gary Perkins and wife Patricia of Frankfort.
His nephews Andrew Perkins and wife Karen, William Perkins and wife Kelly, and Charles Perkins and wife Kimberly. His niece Lisa Ann Wall, and nephews Sean Perkins and wife Andrea and Jason Perkins and wife Leslie.
He was loved by his sister-in-law Kathleen Wilson of Union. His brother-in-law Melvin Wilson and wife Gloria of Peterstown. His sister-in-law Marie Maynard and husband Bob of Beckly. His brother-in-law Fredy Wilson and wife Betty of Greenville. His brother-in-law Bobby Wilson and wife Debbie of Union.
His nephews Mike Wilson and wife Jackye, Mark Wilson and wife Jill, and Steve Wilson. His nephew Rob Wilson and niece Sheila Larson and husband Chris. His nieces Julie Ellison and Tammy Poore and husband Brian. His nieces Crystal Pell and husband Pat and Carrie Boggess and husband Scott. His nephew David Wilson and wife Renee and niece Megan Jackson and husband Jermone.
Visitation will be conducted on Sunday, July 5, 2026, from 1:00pm-2:00pm at Groves-Mann Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 2:00pm with DJ Deskin officiating followed by a graveside service at Green Hill Cemetery.
